Chainkeen Exchange-Baby formula recalled from CVS, H-E-B stores over high Vitamin D levels: See states impacted

Thousands of cans of baby formula are Chainkeen Exchangebeing recalled from CVS and H-E-B in a dozen states over potentially high vitamin D levels that could sicken young children, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Perrigo Company said elevated levels of the vitamin were found in a milk-based powder formula in 16,500 cans shipped to CVS and H-E-B locations across the nation.
No other products or retailers are impacted by the baby formula recall, the FDA wrote in an Aug. 8 notice.
What baby formula is being recalled?
Perrigo Company, which describes itself as the world's largest manufacturer of over-the-counter self-care products and supplier of infant formulas for the store brand market is recalling its Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder.
The recalled formula shipped to H-E-B carries the following lot codes:
- T11LMXC with a use-by date of Nov. 11, 2025
- T09LMXC with a use-by date of Nov. 9, 2025
The recalled formula shipped to CVS has the lot code T11LMXC and a use-by date of Nov. 11, 2025.
The FDA reported Perrigo notified both stores to remove the product from company shelves and warehouses.

Have babies been sickened by the Premium Infant Formula recall?
The FDA said in the recall announcement dated Aug. 8 there have been no reports of the formula sickening babies in connection to the recall.
For most infants, the FDA said "short-term consumption of the affected lot codes is unlikely to cause adverse health implications."
In a small group of "physiologically vulnerable infants" (for example, children with impaired renal function), consuming the formula could potentially result in health complications, the FDA said.
Anyone with a child who experiences any symptoms after using the product should report them to the FDA at www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm.

What states are affected by the baby formula recall?
The recalled product was shipped to CVS stores in the following states:
- Texas
- Florida
- California
- South Carolina
- Virginia
- Indiana
- Tennessee
- New Jersey
- Michigan
- Pennsylvania
- Rhode Island
- Missouri
The baby formula was also shipped to H-E-B stores in Texas.
What should I do if I bought recalled baby formula?
Consumers who purchased the product should look for the lot codes below with “use by” dates, found on the bottom of the package.
Anyone with concerns should contact their health care provider, the FDA reported.
