Xfinity has been scheming like a criminal for two weeks to give subscribers a fun, interactive experience.
"What is so unique and awesome about this is the folks we pulled together to work on this project really, truly are Swifties," says Julie Zied, the senior director and entertainment editor for the company.
Xfinity has an X1 experience that includes 13 custom Taylor-inspired themes, a playlist of Taylor Swift songs to karaoke to, a music video collection, and a selection of movies and documentaries related to Swift.
"We recently started doing themes for big moments like holidays," Zied says. "This is kind of unique that we're bringing themes to life specifically for Taylor."
Kristin Hegel, the director of movie strategy at Xfinity, encouraged subscribers to explore the different features like saying "karma is my boyfriend" into the remote to pull up a super fan destination.
"We're all part of a broad editorial team, but we have experts in music, movies, friends and family and all of those groups came together to put this collection together," Hegel says. "There was a lot of debate over our favorite music videos, and there's a secret song section. What songs should be included was a hot topic."
Amazon Prime said in a news release: "Customers will have the opportunity to rent the film directly on Prime Video, regardless of whether or not they hold a Prime membership."
The streaming service also put together a list of 13 movies and shows that Swift or her music have appeared in that are available to watch:
- "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" (extended version)
- "The Summer I Turned Pretty"
- "Wilderness"
- "The Giver"
- "Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax"
- "Valentine’s Day"
- "Cats"
- "Hannah Montana: The Movie"
- "Amsterdam"
- "Spirit Untamed: The Movie"
- "The Secret Life of Pets"
- "New Girl," season two, episode 25
- "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," season nine, episode 16
Swift's song "Cardigan" from the album "Folklore" didn't make the extended streaming version of the film. The Eras Tour picks back up in February in Tokyo and runs throughout 2024.
